Charles Davidson Bown

December 17, 1929 - September 9, 2017 Dave passed away peacefully at age 87 in Christenson Village, Gibsons. He is survived by his wife Nancy, five children Janet (Theo) Van Vliet, Marian (John) Moreton, Brenda (Bill) Murray, Scott (Katherine) and Ross (Colleen); ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. After graduating from Bishops University, Quebec, Dave began his career in Prince Rupert where he met Nancy. Dave spent 41 years in pulp and paper management positions, working in B.C. and Manitoba until retirement. The paper industry pulled him out of retirement to work in Ontario and New Brunswick until he finally settled permanently into retired life at Hopkins Landing in 1992. Dave could not be idle. He loved sports, carpentry, travel and spending time with family. He was a kind, helpful person who will be very sadly missed and remembered with love and pride by his family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18 at 2:00 pm at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, 659 North Road, Gibsons, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sechelt Hospital Foundation.
