Gary Tolton

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Wayne Tolton on May 5th, 2017. Gary, son of Rev. Gordon and Blanche Tolton, was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Commerce Degree at the age of 21. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mildred, his children Twyla (Fraser Markham), Jordan (Helen), and Lisa (David Kopp), his grandchildren Trevor, Shane, and Michael, and his sister Janice. He leaves behind his loving companion, Truman, who could always be found wagging his tail beside Gary wherever he went. The Toltons moved from Winnipeg to Saskatoon in 1973. Gary worked at Revenue Canada for 35 years and retired as Chief of Audit at the age of 55. Gary committed time to the Alzheimer Society and Read Saskatoon literacy program. His favourite past times included watching CFL football, playing golf and crib, and swimming. Gary and Mildred enjoyed spending time in Ft. Lauderdale and then Ocean Side wintering from the harsh Saskatoon weather. The Toltons then moved to Sechelt in 2013. Gary enjoyed crabbing and long walks with Truman. He was involved with many different community activities and groups where he dedicated his time and love to improve the lives of everyone around him. The family would like to thank the compassionate healthcare providers at Sechelt Hospital. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
