Jimmy passed away peacefully in Sechelt Hospital with his wife Tish by his side. He was predeceased by his two sons, Fred (2008) and Robin (2015) and brother George. Jimmy is survived by his wife Tish, daughter Roxanne Wagner, granddaughter Robin Sawchuk, many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, step-children John (Shonaugh) Cameron, Patrick (Sarah) Cameron, brother Don (Marilyn) Thom and sister Gayle Bennett. Jimmy was raised in Vancouver attending Magee High School. Upon graduation, moved to Kitimat helping run the family dairy business, Lakelse Dairy. Lived in Smithers, Revelstoke and Powell River before setting on the Sunshine Coast. Jimmy also ran his own company, J.K. Thom Process Serving. Jim was a very accomplished swimmer, training for the Olympics as a young man. Many friends and families warmest memories of Jimmy was his role of Santa Claus which ran for over 20 years, always Purdy chocolate bars in his red bag. Last year, when it was no longer feasible for Jim to do his role of Santa, many reindeer came to his door singing Christmas carols to thank him for his many years of spreading Christmas cheer to young and old alike. Jim had a lifelong love for dogs and one was never far from his side. Tish and family would profoundly like to thank Dr. Carla Paetkau, the home care staff and ambulance attendees for the wonderful care Jimmy received. In lieu of fl owers, please send a donation to the B.C. Lung Association or the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary.
