Marie Caroline Nattrass

Marie Caroline Nattrass passed away peacefully at home in Gibsons, BC. Middle daughter of Florence Caroline & Robert George McDonnell (both deceased); loving wife of Floyd (deceased); adored mother and mother-in-law of Brian (Mary), Susan, & Gary (Caroline); treasured grandmother of Sarah, Tommy, & Lara; loving aunt of Robert (Karin Massey) & Richard (Peggy) Anderson; and dear companion of her caregiver Edna Baldo. Marie was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and graduated as a teacher from Calgary Normal School. She taught for a few years and then married Floyd Nattrass, whom she met when they were both studying to be teachers. They were married for 61 years until Floyd’s death in 2004. Marie lived in Calgary, Alberta for 10 years and then Edmonton, Alberta for 44 years before moving to Gibsons in 2004. Marie was a devoted mother to her three children, who are all highly accomplished in their fields, crediting much of their success to their mother’s constant love and support. As the coach and confidante of her champion trapshooter daughter Susan, Marie travelled the world and was much loved and respected everywhere she went.
