Ruth Whitmore Doole

Ruth passed away peacefully at age 94 in Gibsons, B.C. Predeceased by her parents Annie and Gavin Paterson, brothers Jack, Greg, Teddy and Bob Paterson and husband George Doole. Survived by her children Norm Doole (Jane), Phyl Horth (Fred), & Eileen Doole (Simon); Grandchildren Paul Gillespie (Julie) & Cordelia Doole; and Great Grandchildren Nate & Grady Gillespie. Ruth was a very active and social person who loved speed skating & playing ice hockey when growing up in Wadena, Sask. She curled, golfed, and was an avid tennis player. She made many friends since moving to Marina Place in Gibsons from the North Shore in April 2003. She was active in the Gardening Club, the Newcomers Club and alumni; and in her early 90’s enjoyed table tennis, line dancing, exercise class, and socializing at Harmony Hall. Ruth was a world traveler, volunteer, YMCA advocate, card player, cross country skier, knitter, parasailer, gardener and a great friend to many. Thank you to Dr. Paul Murphy, and thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Sechelt Hospital & Christenson Village. Ruth will be missed. Hers was a life well lived.
