William Tyner

June 1, 1928 - May 9, 2017 Bill left us on Tuesday, May 9 with dignity and a sense of peace. His final days were spent in Sechelt Hospital surrounded by caring staff and a few close friends. Born in County Wicklow, Ireland. Leaving the country of his birth, but never far from his heart, Bill arrived in Canada as a young man 61 years ago. The Lower Mainland became his home base as he travelled Western Canada for various companies in the Automotive Aftermarket industry. Bill loved his job and life in general. Along the way he gathered friends from all walks of life. Not one to sit on the sidelines and complain, if there was a cause, organization or issue he felt could use his involvement, he did not hesitate to give his time. In 2004, Bill moved to the Sunshine Coast, joined the local golf club, where he continued his passion with the game which had been an integral part of his life. A group of new friends were soon added. Predeceased by his brother Norman, sister Hazel and his best furry friend Honey. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews, step-children, a multitude of friends and his last companion, Sadie. A wee Irish wake will be held at the Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club in Roberts Creek on Sunday, May 21, from 2pm-4pm.
