Cecil Chapman Obituary

October 4, 1978 - May 7, 2018

With heavy hearts and unbearable sadness, we must announce the passing of C. Drew Chapman.
Drew was born in Sechelt Hospital (the old St.Mary's Hospital) on Wednesday, October 4, 1978. He lived in Sechelt for four years. Drew, his dad and brother moved to Quesnel B.C. When he was 12 he returned to Sechelt and his mom.
Drew joined Chatelech Secondary in the beginning of Grade 9, were he made life-long friends. You could always find him in shop class. He got his first motorcycle and that was it, after that he was hooked!! As long as I can remember Drew worked on something all the time, be it his old Honda Civics, his motorcycles, his Toyota pick-up and his biggest achievement, rebuilding and marrying an old 70's Chevy pickup to a newer 90's shot box. He was so proud of that truck! After he finished Grade 12, he moved to Alberta and worked at many different jobs but home was always calling.
He loved his home life and his friends. When he came home he worked for awhile and decided to go to school to become a helicopter pilot. He decided he wanted to go to school in Campbell River. There he stayed and became a licensed helicopter pilot, which in turn lead him to his first job with TransWest Helicopter Company in Chilliwack. He worked there for a few years and realized he didn't like to be away from his family and home. His family consisted of Leah, Ashley, Savanah, and kitty cats…he was so happy. Drew's big accomplishment and thrill was becoming a Dad to Maya Jewel on May 18, 2008.
He started to work for "Mr. Build" in the construction world for about two and a half years. Due to the recession, Drew left construction and went to work at Yahama Motor Sports and loved being back with motorbikes. On his off time he turned his home garage in to Motorbike Central!!He returned to working for Mr. Build. After a while working for John (Mr.Build), he suggested to Drew to go out on his own, and he did. With that he started his own company, Harmonic Construction, with great success.
Drew's family that have gone on before him is his sister, Misty, his grandparents Chapman and Lawrence and his Auntie Judy, and his step-father, Bud/Keith.
His family that are left to carry on his memory is his amazing daughter Maya Jewel, his mom Clarey, his Dad Ken, his brother Jay, and cousins. He also leaves his extended family, Maya's som Leah, her daughters, Ashley and Savana, and Leah's family, and his best friends, David, Steffan, Eli and Adam. Please forgive me if I have left anyone out.

There will be two celebrations of life for Drew. The first one will be held in Chilliwack at Coast Hotel, Fraser Room on Monday, May 28 from 12-3pm.

The Sechelt Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 10 at the Seaside Center from 12-3pm. Please bring stories, pictures, and memories. Come comfortable; Drew never much liked dressing up. All are welcomed. See you there!!
