My condolences to Rodgy's family. Dave was a true gentlemen. His caring heart went out to everyone and he treated all with the highest of respect. I always looked forward to working a shift with Dave because you knew in light of the job, Rodgy always made you smile. He was an important member of the TVA family and will be missed.

I always looked forward to a visit with my father-in-law because it would be entertaining and we would laugh. We share an emergency service bond and a love of cars. I will miss our conversations, your words not forgotten.

It was pleasure to have known and worked along side Rodgy. He was one of a kind with such a good soul. I always looked forward to coming to work when I knew he'd be my partner.
I remember his line "always keep a shine on your boots" (not literally) Good man.
My condolences to his family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Rodgy's passing. I've known him since I was a kid when Jeff and I were good friends, and always stood in awe when he passed by in an ambulance. To end up working with him so many years later was a real thrill for me. I will never forget some of his sayings and the fact that I never met anyone that didn't think he was a great human being. My visit with him in Gibsons talking about the Beachcombers was also the highlight of one of my trips west. Rest in peace Dave, you will be missed.

In memory of our father, we made charitable donations in the amount of $50 each to the BCSPCA and The Sunshine Foundation Of Canada. We have no doubt that he would choose this option over flowers. To donate, please visit www.spca.bc.ca or www.sunshine.ca.

You will be missed Rodgy! I was just thinking about you yesterday while on standby at the new Horizon base. I was wondering where your table would have been set up for playing cards. Thanks for the memories! Your laugh was contagious! I will never forget it!

We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing.Bud enjoyed working with Dave at TVA. On our last trip West, we were able to spend a couple of days with he and Joan. Bud and Dave sat up to the wee hours of the morning remembering and laughing about the good old days. Dave loved people as much as they loved him, he will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to Rodgy's family. I worked with Dave at TVA, and Miss Ellie said it right - it was like working with your dad. He had a great sense of humour and always brought a smile to your face. I can still hear him bumming a cigarette - " Ya got a dart for me kid?" He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Things I Learned from my Dad ...

To be an optimist.
To look on the bright side.
To watch my fingers.
That race cars are fun.
To stand up for what I believe in.
To not take any wooden nickels.
To show compassion.
To wear a helmet.
To help others.
To know that it's never too late to make a change.
To dare to dream.
To never be a fence sitter.
To be law abiding and upstanding.
To use caution.
To be goofy, no matter your age.
That God is good.
To wear red pants and yellow shirts just because you love those colours.
How to drive in the snow.
To be kind to animals.
To keep your head above water.
To know that I was loved very dearly by my dad. And he made it very easy to love him in return.

It is with great sadness that I hear this news of Dave's passing. We worked together for many years and when he left for the west, he left us with great memories of our adventures at TVA. He loved driving ambulance and was fun to work with.
