Jim passed away all too soon in Sechelt at 71 years old surrounded by loved ones. A retired first responder, Jim was a BC Ambulance Paramedic with over 35 years of service in Williams Lake, Westbank and on the Sunshine Coast.
Jim was very active in the Sunshine Coast community, particularly with the Gibsons Paddle Club and Sunshine Coast canoe families. Jim was always quick with a joke and a smile. He touched a lot of lives and will be missed by many. Son of Jock and Jean Gibson, Jim is survived by his partner Anneke Schootman, Uncle Dave Lachlan, Sheila, children Paul, Sandy and Erin, brother David (Cathy), Shannon, John, David, Della, Sara, Michael and a large extended family and friends who all cared for him very much.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Jim on Saturday, June 16 at the Sechelt Botanical Gardens, 1pm-3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Sechelt Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Sechelt Hospital for the incredible care given to Jim.
