Sally Peace
January 1 , 1919 - August 4 , 2019
Sally was born in Bromley, Kent, England on January 1, 1919 to George and Florence Nellie Baxter. She was the fifth child of ten children, having five sisters and four brothers. She had her own gentlemen’s hairdressing shop in Orpington, Kent.
She moved to North Vancouver in 1966 and worked at the Unemployment Insurance Commission and then Lions Gate Hospital. After working at Lions Gate she worked for B.C. Ferries and in 1973, she and her husband Len, moved to Davis Bay on the Sunshine Coast and built their home. She and Len took numerous cruises over the years and also travelled back and forth to Scotland and England to visit family and friends. After Len passed, Sally moved to Sechelt where she made many new good friends. She loved going to Bingo and the Casino, loved knitting and took great pride in her garden which she took care of well into her nineties.
She is survived by her son Trevor (Lesley), stepdaughter Daryl (Dave), four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind many good friends who have helped her throughout her years in Sechelt.
