Wayne Sverre Nordhus

It is with great sadness, the family of Wayne Sverre Nordhus announces his passing on June 26th in Sechelt B.C. Wayne lost his courageous battle to cancer with his family by his side. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his mother Eleanor Nordhus, his spouse Karen Bodkin, his four children Lisa, Dustin, Jennifer and Christa. Also, his five grandchildren Logan, Coral, Lucas, Edan and Leon. Wayne also leaves behind his nieces Lanis and Jessa and nephews Grady, Jordan, Tanner and Tyson. As well all his great nieces and nephews.
Wayne was charismatic, intelligent and loved to laugh. He made everyone around him laugh with his gregarious sense of humor. Wayne loved being surrounded by his family and had nicknames for all his loved ones. One of Wayne's true loves was the sea. As a youngster he grew up commercial fishing  with his dad, and ultimately became Captain on B.C Ferries. He loved his garden and the home he built in Sechelt. His last days were spent with his spouse Karen tirelessly caregiving for him and his family showering him with love. We will all cherish the unconditional love he gave his family over the duration of his life he was a wonderful father the best big brother, a true friend,a fantastic uncle and the best Poppa to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all the lives that he touched and his family will grieve the loss of their captain,  the head of our family. Our hearts will always encompasses his spirit finding our way through every small passage and storm just as our father did and his father's father did before him. The way home is always in our hearts as we now have the skipper navigating our ships.
