Agatha Theresa (Herbert) MacKenzie

Agatha passed away peacefully in her 94th year with many family members at her side in Sechelt, BC on April 16, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Ian in 2015. Agatha leaves her children: Francis (Ligaya), Eileen (Frank), Brian (Rose), Ian (Mary), Brenda, Kenan (Lynn), Donard (Niki), and Ardan (Allegra) who all miss her greatly. She was a beloved grandmother to: David, Michael, Serena, Ian, Amanda, Adam, Reegan, Eilis, Saige and Tiernan. She also leaves behind multiple great grandchildren and several Irish nephews and nieces. Agatha grew up in Corballa, County Sligo, Ireland, first meeting Ian, the love of her life, when she was just ten and he was twelve. Ian returned to Ireland to marry her in December,1950. They journeyed by ship and train to Vancouver, eventually moving to Gibsons in 1956. Agatha dedicated her life to being a mother, proud of her eight children and always looking out for their well-being. Agatha was a woman of strong faith, a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, who took great comfort in attending Mass. Agatha loved going to Gower Point to gaze out on Georgia Strait:

The view was reminiscent of Enniscrone, the Irish strand near her girlhood home where she would watch the cold Atlantic waves rolling in.  May she rest in peace.
