In Loving Memory of Betty Lee Plourde

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Lee Plourde on February 4th at the age of 92. She left this world gently, with her daughter Donna by her side.

Betty was born in Maryland, USA. Although Maryland was her beginning, it was the Sunshine Coast that captured her heart. She fell in love with its natural beauty, and most of all, the people. The Sunshine Coast became not just where she lived, but where she truly belonged.

Betty was the heart of her family, a devoted mother to her four children: Ron, Wendy, Donna, and Chip. Her love did not stop there. She was a proud grandmother to Shane, Tina, Jesse, Jessmarae, Ian, Ronnie, and Kailee. She also loved with all her heart her great-grandchildren: Dylan and Lily, Ali and Caleb, Leo and Willow. She was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-great-grandson in July. Her legacy lives on in each of them.

If you knew Betty, you loved her. She had a warmth that made everyone feel welcome, a kindness that came naturally, and a strength that carried her and her family through every season of life. She had a generous heart and an open-door policy for all. She had a way of making everyone feel special.

She will be missed beyond words by her family, her friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her 92 wonderful years. While our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort knowing she passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms. Her love remains woven into the fabric of our family forever.

A gathering will be held this summer, as it was her wish to have a big celebration with all her friends and family. Details to be announced.
