FREDRICKSEN (née TORY), Beverlie Gail 1939.10.08 – 2026.06.15
The death of Gail Fredricksen follows 86 years of a happy, fulfilled life.
Banff School of Fine Arts (Junior Red Cross Leadership Course); Valedictorian Class 1957 (Wainwright High School); Pins, Badges & Crests (Dominion Marksmen); Contributor Canadian High School News (Toronto); Office Assistant (19 Works RCE, Camp Wainwright); Crew and Tour Promoter (British Columbia Toll Authority Ferry System plus 2 Inaugural Runs (City of Vancouver and City of Victoria) later to become the Queens of Vancouver and Victoria); Office Assistant (L&K Lumber Ltd.); Office Assistant (Terminal Forest Products Ltd.): Administrative Contractor (Sechelt Creek Contracting Ltd.). 45 years working at Log Sorting Operations in Howe Sound, supported by the unquestionable honesty and professionalism of the following co-workers: the late Ken (CORKY) Bland (L&K/TFP); Vince Bothwell & Garry Matthews (SCC); Roger Hincks & Keng Meng Sim (Garrett Log Service).
Gail was predeceased by: her husband, Robert Fredricksen; their son, Paul (6 years); her parents, RH (Oz) and Eula Tory; and her brother, John Tory. She leaves to mourn: her children, Erika van der Grinten; Liv Fredricksen (Evan Rodwell). Grandchildren, Natasha van der Grinten (Glen Buchholz); Derek van der Grinten (Ana), Rennveig Rodwell. Great-grandchildren, Ryker & Anders Buchholz. Sisters: Lana Marik (Bob) and Lorraine Rutledge. Brothers: Ross Tory (Ann); Carl Tory (Laura). Many nieces and nephews.
Retiring in her 85th year, she reflected on the excitement and rewards of being a part of the Forest Industry. Gail enjoyed every day of service. She marvelled at the never-ending contributions benefitting the community from various facets of this industry.
