Beverly Reid

February 28, 1943 - November 4, 2021

After a brief battle with cancer, Bev passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord with family at her side. She was born to Albert and Edna Shatford in Shaunavon, SK, the middle child of five. In her teens the family moved to Claresholm, AB. She started dating classmate Terry in high school.

Bev taught school in Claresholm, Banff, Calgary, Chilliwack and Rosedale. She loved children and teaching and often remarked that she can't believe that she gets paid for doing something she loves. Following retirement she home schooled grandchildren in Harrison Hot Springs.

Terry and Bev moved to Madeira Park in 2009. Bev loved living here. She enjoyed the beautiful scenery, people, wildlife, gardening,  walking the Fran Pen loop, writing poetry and painting. She was devoted to her family and active in church, especially enjoying prayer meetings and the ladies bible study.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Terry, daughters Tammy (Rino) in Chilliwack and Kerri-Ann (Rene) in France, nine grandchildren (BC, AB, England, Italy, France), eight great-grandchildren, brother Edwin (Gwen) of Red Deer, and sisters Louise-Ann (Tim) in Sundre, AB, Cathy in Chilliwack and Janice (Joe) in Claresholm. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Donna.

The service will be held on Friday November 12 at 12:30 pm at the Madeira Park Community Church, 12891 Lagoon Road, Madeira Park (11:30-12:30 for viewing). Graveside for family members immediately following the service. No reception. We respectfully request vaccinations and masks for those attending.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care of Dr. Belgraver and the L2, L3 and Palliative Care nurses. If friends so desire, donations can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
