Bonnie Sydor Obituary

It is with deep regrets that we announce the passing of Bonnie Vivian Jean Sydor on August 27, 2022 in Sechelt, BC after a brief illness. Born Sept. 19, 1952 in Edmonton, Bonnie was an adventurous world traveler who made lifelong friends wherever she went.  Bonnie had a successful career in the hospitality industry both in Edmonton and Pender Harbor where she relocated in the early 1990s. She had a kindness and generosity about her that was unrivalled; she loved her work, and the opportunity to meet new people, and to share a laugh with familiar customers each day. She was proud to call the Sunshine Coast her home for 30 years -- a place she said was Heaven on Earth.

Bonnie is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Nora Sydor; brother Wayne Sydor; birth father Larry Cote; and her partner Doug Mansell. She is survived by sister Debra (Tom); brothers Wayne (Cheryl) and Gary (Linda); son Randy (Kimberly); grandchildren Samuel, Ethan, Joshua and Alyssa.

A celebration of life will be held for Bonnie on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Pender Harbor School of Music at 11 a.m., 12956 Madeira Park Road, Madeira Park, BC.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Simon Reznick and the nursing staff at Sechelt Hospital who cared for Bonnie in her final weeks: your kindness and compassion will long be remembered.
