The family of Chrystal Garuik (Garrick) is deeply saddened to announce her unexpected passing on November 8th age 84 years at Sechelt, BC.

Chrystal was born in Liverpool England to Eric and Mary Rutter. At 21 years, Chrystal sailed to Canada where she soon met the love of her life - Fred. Together, they raised a loving family in Pickering, ON surrounded by friends, family and many dogs. In 1998 they chose to chase the sunset to Gibsons, BC and write their final chapter together. Now, Chrystal and Fred are together again at the close.

They loved life in Gibsons and being a part of the Community. They felt truly “home” here amongst family and dear friends. Chrystal made life long friends all along her path. She was smart, witty and always generous with giving advice.

In the end, family was the centre of her being and she was the pillar of ours. A devoted wife, dedicated mother and a nurturing Nan.

Chrystal will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by many including her sons Iain, Andrew, Philip. Daughters in-law Lesley, Aidan and Jojie. Granddaughters Maya and Ella, her sister Carole and nieces Louise, Elizabeth, Sue and Leanne.

A celebration of life will be held at High Beam Dreams on Saturday December 6, 2025 at 1 pm for friends and family.
