In Loving Memory
Don passed away at Lions Gate Hospital, Vancouver, BC with his family at his side. His wife Sharon was with him for 50 years. He was a loving father to his three sons, Aaron (Kari), Colan (Trisha) and Corey. He had six grandchildren, Austin, Presley, Brandon, Bailee (Alan), Erica and Samantha, two great-grandchildren, Kingsley and one on the way. He has two surviving brothers, Gary (Anna) and Allan (Brenda). Don has many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Don was predeceased by his father Donald Irvine Urquhart I, mother Myrtle Margaret Urquhart, three brothers, Gurney, Larry and Kenneth Urquhart. Don was the oldest of six boys. He loved his brothers, aunts, uncles and their families, and his own boys and their families. Being the eldest brother he felt he must keep everyone informed of everything going on in the Urquhart clan. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and wanted to go to Scotland but never made it. He, however, loved his road trip across Canada that took the entire summer to visit his and Sharon's family members. He said he'd love to do that trip again, but the pandemic hit and it was not to be.
Don was a farm boy growing up in New Brunswick. He often regailed us with life on the farm. Don left New Brunswick and moved to Ontario where he met Sharon. He worked at Ranco Containers, moved to Northern Ontario, Caramat, and worked for American Can. as a skidder operator, and then moved to Gibsons, BC and worked for Howe Sound Pulp & Paper. He retired from there and enjoyed a relaxed life. He loved to read, collect cars to display and take trips down memory lane. Don loved to go to car shows. Don was a gentle, honest man and anyone who knew him, knew this.
He will be missed deeply by his family, friends and the neighbourhood he loved.
Don sadly lost his fight with Rare Excema and blood poisoning.
