Edward John Erickson

Edward passed in the morning of November 9, 2025 at Sechelt Hospital from heart failure.

Edward was born in New Westminster, BC to Edward Evar and Irma Helen Erickson (nee Klemola). Edward is survived by siblings Brian, Joanna, and their families.

Edward started fishing in 1967 on the Fraser River on a leased gill netter. Purchasing his own boat the Blue Adriatic in 1972, which he just recently sold.

Along with fishing, Edward was a Maintenance Technician for Vancouver Coastal Health. He was involved in the Hospital Employee’s Union and Sunshine Coast Labour Council.

He was predeceased by his father;  Edward Evar,(1992) mother; Irma,(1999) brother; Captain Michael (Lief) Erickson (1988).

A celebration of Edward’s life will be held in the spring of 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. heartandstroke.ca
