Elaine Claire Caines (Bruder)

Elaine passed away on March 20, 2023 in her home in Sechelt, British Columbia with her family by her side.
Elaine is survived by her husband Mike and her brothers Roger and Alan. Elaine is also survived by her son Michael, daughter Michelle, stepsons Adrian and Michael and their respective partners; Christine, Brent, Lesley and Yasue, and her grandchildren; Matthew, Hamish, Jessie, Amanda and Ben.
Elaine was born on December 1, 1942 to Gordon and Clara Bruder in Vancouver British Columbia where she lived most of her life. Elaine spent her career working for BC Hydro and BC Gas where she was best known for her role as the BC Gas Librarian, greeting everyone with a warm smile and lots of yummy snacks! In retirement she moved to the Middle East and spent more than 10 years with her husband Mike living in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. During this time Elaine and Mike were able to travel extensively, which Elaine loved. In particular, Elaine enjoyed being near or in the ocean. Elaine and Mike moved to Sechelt, British Columbia in 2007 where she was able to enjoy life with an ocean view, being near to her family, and close network of friends. Elaine was a poet, pianist, and incredible shopper. She filled those around her with joy, laughter and beauty and will be deeply missed.
