Estella (Stella) Agnes (Anderson) Shaver

Our Mother, Stella, was born in Vancouver B.C. and passed away peacefully in her Sechelt home surrounded by family. Stella is predeceased by her first husband George Delore McNeil, second husband Cecil Leroy Shaver, both brothers Roy and Buster Anderson and more recently, Raymond Phillips, who shared her senior years swimming in the ocean, dancing at the Sechelt Legion, where you may have seen her "swivel hips". They travelled and enjoyed life with friends and family. 

Mom worked and raised her family in Burnaby, retired and moved to Roberts Creek with her second husband Cecil Shaver in 1991. She was actively involved in the community volunteering for the Sechelt (Seniors) Activity Centre and Royal Canadian Legion #140, Woman's Auxiliary. 

Mom loved to be surrounded by relatives, friends, our friends and family. Many of our friends referred to Stella as their 2nd Mom! She was always smiling, laughing and kibitzing with everyone. Mom loved dancing, travelling, family vacations and celebrations. For most of Mom's life she was a proud dog owner. She enjoyed walking her most recent dog, Tinker, at Snicket Park and the sea walk in Sechelt, chatting with many friends old and new. 

Mom will be forever loved by all she leaves behind. We will keep her memory alive forever. Stella leaves behind her loving children Debra, Gary (Lois) and Lynn along with her grandchildren Darcy, Jenna, Lauren, Mike, Devin, Quintin and her great grandchild Canyon, friends and relatives. 

We would very much like to thank the VCH Care Workers and Home Healthcare Network Care Workers that lovingly supported her and our family for the last few years. We would also like to thank wonderful friends that lived nearby Karen Benner and for those difficult weeks especially, Jeanine Phillips. 

Stella was a wonderful mother, loving, kind, caring and lots of fun. Mom requested we share this poem, which speaks of her kind thoughts. 

Remember me, as I remember you

With Love, 

With Laughter, 

With gratitude, for the journey shared, 

For life well lived

With full heart, for I am free, 

You will find me 

Rising with the sun, 

Waltzing with the breeze, 

Lapping at the shore, 

Buzzing with the hummingbirds, 

Shining with the stars

I am free, 

Remember me, as I remember you.
