Garry Tickle
1949 to May of 2026
Garry began his life in Burnaby B.C. He had lovely parents. Garry
cherished friendships and loved wholeheartedly.
He was artistic, mechanical, an inventor who liked to solve problems.
Garry gave a day merit by how many dogs he got to rub along the way.
He was kind.
He met his wife Lillian in the 1970's and the adventures began! Salmon
Arm, Kamloops,Merville, Anglemont, Little Fort, Hotham Sound, Madeira
Park, Surrey, and finally settling (by choice) in Gibsons Landing 30
plus years ago.
Garry was with B.C tel to start, then self-employed in many endeavors,
including owner/operator of the Gibsons Sears outlet.
Once retired, they wintered in Napier and Ohope beach New Zealand, and
saw much of that country, taking a 10,000 km. road trip.
Garry was around boats all of his life and was proud to skipper 4 of
his own boats over 40 years. He enjoyed the camaraderie of both GYC
and TBYC.
Garry passed away peacefully with Lillian by his side at Sechelt hospital.
Thankyou Dr. O'Farrell, Dr. Bauer, and all the medical teams -
palliative, hospice, respite, B.C. ambulance, ER, N. Van specialists, Devlin Funeral home.
You all amazed us with your compassion and care.
Breathe easy my love. And if there is
a soft breeze upon my cheek, I know
it will be you. I love you so much.
