Joan Rita, “Joanie” nee (Wasnick), age 91 passed away on Tuesday, January 30th at Silverstone care facility in Sechelt.
She was born in Rouyn, Quebec on January 19th, 1933. Joan lived in London, Ontario for many years. From there, she moved to Sechelt, British Columbia on the Sunshine Coast and was a resident for over 20 years. Other family members followed. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and horticulture. The family would like to thank the Shorncliffe care facility staff for taking care of Joan during her transitional period. We would also like to thank Dr. Simon Resnick and staff for the medical care they provided for Joan. We would also like to thank Carmen Sombrowski for the assistance she provided Joan. We would also like to thank Melody from the Devlin funeral home in Gibsons. And finally, we would like to thank her friends that provided her support, in particular the ones at the Bethel Baptist Church in Sechelt.

Thank you Joanie for all the good you did and great times we all spent together! Say hi to David and Paul for us and we will see you again.
