Jolyne Eleanor (Stakiw) Ball

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Jolyne Eleanor Ball. She passed away peacefully, at home, with family by her side.

Jolyne was pre-deceased by Howard in 2019- her husband of 53 years. She will be greatly missed by daughters Deanna Blacklock (Jonathan), Gina Ball (Jim Saunders), Janel Ball (Sergio Sandavol), sister Susan Teplitsky (Paul), brother-in-law Doug Ball (Claire), sister-in-law Sandra Benson (Jim), along with many nieces and nephews.

Jolyne grew up in Maidstone, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy. A strong and astute business woman, she excelled at owning and running pharmacies in both Maidstone and Sechelt. Jolyne was an adventurist spirit whose love of travel took her to countless destinations around the world. After spending time in both Saskatchewan and Alberta Jolyne and Howard moved to Sechelt a took up their new hobbie, boating. Jolyne loved boating throughout the Sechelt Inlet and the new friendships it brought. Life on the Sunshine Coast was always exciting to her.

Jolyne was an active volunteer, taking on various roles in the Downtown Business Association and Canadian Federation of University Women, plus many more. She enjoyed the diverse friendship these organizations, and others, offered. Jolyne truly cherished the times laughing under the fruit trees during “happy hour” with family and friends. These moments were particularly special over her last months.

At Jolyne’s request, there will be no service. Please raise a glass to Jolyne and toast to a life well lived and to a lady well loved.
