Jon Gilbert

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jon Gilbert, a devoted father to Jenna and Emily, and a loving husband of 41 years to Jane. 

He passed away peacefully in Silverstone Hospice on May 16, 2025, after battling many challenging health issues. He is remembered by his best friend, Vic, sisters Joan and Ardith, brother Bob, many nieces and nephews in the United States, family members here on the Sunshine Coast, cousins in B.C. And Ontario, as well as many wonderful loving friends from Calvary Chapel in Davis Bay. 

Much love and many thanks go out to Dr. Graham Lea, the team of home care nurses, the many kind paramedics, Dr. Carmen Goojha and her devoted palliative care team, Jim and his kind staff at Guardian - Suncoast Pharmacy, Jennie, the hospice coordinator and her dependable team of volunteers, as well as the amazing nurses at Silverstone. 

Jon and his wonderful sense of humour will be deeply missed by all, but we are comforted in knowing that Jon has gone home to be with the Lord. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.”
