Joy Grace (Powell) Lafferty

On March 18 at 7:00 pm Joy passed away in her sleep with her husband Jim and family members by her side.  She was born and raised in New Zealand and moved to Vancouver in 1964.  It was there she met and married Jim.  They were happily married for almost 60 years and moved to Sechelt in 2004.

She leaves her sisters Beverly (late Ron), Yvonne (late Don), and Robyn, (Marty) and her late brother Bruce all of New Zealand.  She will be missed by Jim’s family Larry (Ann), Sheri (late Gary), Bernie (Judy) and the late Patti (Gary).  She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Joy volunteered for a number of organizations including Friends of the Library and Vancouver Health driving patients to Mainland appointments.
