It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Juliette (Julie) Isobel Louise (nee Mond) Smith on January 29, 2020 at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops, BC. She was 86 years of age.
Julie was born in Vancouver, BC on October 16, 1933. She graduated from Lord Byng Secondary School in 1952. She married her beloved David on July 17, 1954, and settled down in Vancouver. Julie was a successful domestic engineer and mother to Stephen, Daniel, and Melanie. Julie was easy to talk to and always enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, having tea with friends, teaching Sunday School, leading Bible studies, spending time at the lake, scrapbooking, writing letters, and gardening. For the past 1-1/2 years Julie lived with her daughter in Kamloops, BC where she met Charlie (family dog) her constant shepherd companion whom she loved very much. Charlie passed away January 15, 2020. We like to think that they are taking long walks together free from pain and discomfort.
Julie was predeceased by her husband David, son Stephen, and grandson Kevin.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Daniel (Gail) Smith; her daughter Melanie (David) Burkholder; her daughter-in-law Kathleen; her grandchildren Joanna, Nicole (John), Alannah, Kristen, Shanti, Michael, and Paul, and her great grandson Coen; her extended family and many friends.
A Celebration of Julie’s Life will be held on March 21, 2020 at 3:00 pm at:
