Sadly, our  beloved, Mom, Grandma, Sister  passed  away peacefully at Silverstone Care Center, in Sechelt on, Good Friday the 29th of March surrounded by friends and family. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Ken Hewitt.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Shinn (Darren), son David Anderson , sisters Karen Sieben and Heather Bould as well as her three grandchildren Kodi, Tyler and Ashley.
Bonnie was born in New Westminster, the oldest of three daughters born to Lila and Bill Porter both deceased, but spent her entire life on  the Sunshine Coast  making many friends along her life journey.
She graduated from Elphinstone Secondary and was employed as a Secretary for Canadian Forest Products till motherhood called and she devoted her life to raising her daughter Susan  and son David.
Bonnie loved her community and became an avid volunteer. In her twenties she was a  Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of Canada and in her senior years she was President of the Sechelt Seniors Center and wrote their newsletter. She was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church and put her faith and trust in God. She was slow to anger and quick to love and forgive.
