Lorraine Sim Obituary

Lorraine Catherine Sim (née Snyder) passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at Christensen Village in Gibsons, BC.

Born in Vernon, BC, Lorraine graduated from high school and went on to pursue a career in Nursing. She moved to Sechelt, where she accepted a position at the newly opened St. Mary’s Hospital. It was in Sechelt that she met the love of her life, Richard “Rick” Sim, who predeceased her in 2015.

Lorraine is remembered by her three children – Roberta (Mathew), Kevin (Jennifer) and Heather (Jared); her six grandchildren – Corbin, Andraya, Reece, Katherine, Gabrielle, and Aiden; and her great-Granddaughter, Zoey, whom she was overjoyed to meet before her passing.

Lorraine spent most of her life in Sechelt, where she became a familiar presence in the community. She dedicated many years to the Trail Bay Medical Clinic and the Pender Harbour Medical Clinic contributing steadily to both workplaces throughout her career.

Family was always Lorraine’s greatest priority and the center of her life. She will be remembered for her commitment to those she loved and the lasting connections she built over the years.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at Christensen Village for their care and compassion. The kindness and support shown to mom every day will always be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
