In Loving Memory of:
BELLMAN, NORAH (NEE KENNELLY)
1936 - 2024
The family of Norah Alena Bellman of Gibsons, B.C. and formally of Beaconsfield, Quebec, are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday February 17, 2024 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Gordon Bellman. Norah will be missed by her devoted children Chris Bellman (Yunfang), James Bellman (Renee), Joanne Hunt (Jeffrey), Kevin Kennelly (Alyssa) and the late Shawn. Proud and cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Royden and Catherine Kennelly (nee Dixon); sisters Mary Lou McCoy (the late Michael) and Patricia Hodgins, brothers Brian and Albert Kennelly, and her best friend from childhood, Patricia Martel (the late Maurice). Norah will now be dancing an Irish jig with them. Norah is survived by her sister-in-law, Vicky Swinburne-Kennelly (the late Brian).
Norah was a fun-loving soul with a wonderful sense of adventure. Born and raised in Ottawa, she graduated from nursing school in Hamilton and then moved to work in Banff, where she met her future husband Larry. She loved children and together with Larry, fostered several children. In addition to raising her family, Norah was a talented knitter, volunteered and worked in nursing homes and the local hospital, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Mom was a very special lady who gave so much to all who ever met her. Prayers for Norah will be said at the 11:30 am mass at St. Mary’s Church in Gibsons on March 17th, followed by a Celebration of Life in Roberts Creek. A Celebration of Life will be held for Norah in Beaconsfield at a later date.
The Family would like to thank the physicians and staff at Christensen Village and Sechelt Hospital, and to her friends for welcoming her into the community, and providing jollification and support over the years.
