Owen William Low passed away Tuesday Jan. 20, 2026.
Born on October 26, 1948, in southern Alberta and a resident in Calgary for his young life, he was a tinkerer, inventor, and entrepreneurial soul who worked with emerging technology in information systems and spent the latter portion of his life deeply involved with environmental power systems and a love of the sea. He married Barbara Ann Hubler and had a son, Karl William Low, with her. Owen is now survived by Karl and his wife Tamra. He also leaves behind a brother, Ron (Susan), and beloved sister Rita (Richard) Bailey, 15 beloved nieces and nephews all of whom claim a loving acquaintance, and many dear friends across various nations. In lieu of flowers, catch a fish, eat an oyster, or donate to your local humane society.
An announcement about Celebrating of Owen’s Life and Loves will be forth coming.
