Dick passed away peacefully after a stroke and a short stay at the Sechelt Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and his oldest son, Rick.
Dick leaves behind his devoted wife of 69 years, Helen, and his remaining sons, Peter, David, Paul, and Brian, and grandchildren, Michael, David, Nolan, Brandon, Crystal, Austin, and Colby, and a handful of great-grandchildren.
Dick was an incredibly hardworking family man and provider. His career as a first-class steam engineer brought the family west, he was always in high demand.
He and Helen were both rooted in the land, and for decades, they worked together in the fields along the Fraser River or the pig farm by Tofield.
Dick had a soft spot for his dogs and we’re certain he’s been reunited with those loyal companions of years past.
Rest in peace, you will be missed.
