It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy "Joe" Douglas Terry
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Joe was the youngest of seven children. Despite a difficult childhood, he carved his own path and made his way to the Sunshine Coast in his late teens-a place he would proudly call home for the rest of his life.
Joe has a deep love for cars-especially hot rods, racing and restoration projects that reflected his creativity and determination. After suffering a stroke in 2012, his resilience continued to shine. Whether cruising around town on his scooter or tinkering in the garage, he remained a familiar presence in the community.
He is survived by his four children and five grandchildren, many of whom were with him through his final days. Joe's will to live, his humour and his stubborn spirit will be deeply missed by those who loved him most.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bryson, who cared for him throughout his illness and to the compassionate health care staff who grew to love and know him. You not only took care of him, but also kept him company.
In true Joe fashion, he leaves us with one last piece of advice: "Light 'em up."
