SHIRLEY JEAN FEARNLEY (Nee Allen)
December 16, 1930 – April 1, 2021
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Shirley Jean Fearnley, at the age of 90.
She was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and was the youngest of 12 children. She passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021. She was pre deceased by husband Budd. Shirley leaves behind daughters Karen Cawsey/Jac and Vickye Handford/Robin, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Shirley was a long time resident of the Sunshine Coast arriving here in 1956 where husband Budd was employed by BC Telephone. She worked in a local jewellery store and clothing shop.
Shirley was a fantastic cook and entertainer. Her baked beans were definitely a family kept secret. She also loved to dance. I am sure now that she has joined Budd, heaven is rockin.
Shirley loved games from scrabble to crib and also doing word puzzles. Many a night was spent in family card games (Which she usually won!!) Another favorite outdoor game of hers was Bean Bag toss. Later in her life you would see her at Big Mac’s Keno bar or Lottery Centre in the Mall and she loved her casino trips.
Travel was an important part of her retirement and many miles were put on their motorhome going across Canada and down to Arizona for the winter months.
Shirley will be dearly missed and kept forever in our hearts and minds. A Celebration of Life will be held at a gentler time when we can all come together and honor Shirley and her full life.
