It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Susanne Marie Jorgensen, after a brave and lengthy fight with cancer.

Susanne was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, colleague, teammate, and neighbour to so many. She lived her life to the absolute fullest, with determination, energy, passion, and no filter, enriching and entertaining the lives of everyone she met.  

Susanne’s story was a Coast story from beginning to end. Susanne grew up exploring the hills and breakwater of Selma Park, cheerleading and earning blue ribbons in many sports at Elphinstone Secondary, and even briefly entering nursing school. As a busy and dedicated mom, you could always find her spending summer days at the beach with her four kids, soaking up every ounce of sun. Through her career, managing the drugstore in Trail Bay Mall and 15 successful years as a Realtor, her connection and love for the region and its people continued to grow, as many of her clients and customers became neighbours and friends. She was a spunky, proud Coaster who cared deeply for her community, whether it was through her commitment to Rotary or Sunshine Dragons Abreast.

Susanne’s life will be remembered and honoured by her four children Kaleigh (and her first grandson, Knox), Stephanie, Jenna, and Kai, as well as her sister Kirsten and brother Per. Susanne’s love for her rich Danish heritage helped keep her family’s wild traditions alive, ensuring that every holiday was filled with hygge, akvavit, and some tra-la-la.

We would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped to shape Susanne’s wonderful life. From her cherished dragon boat and Rotarian friends, to her real estate colleagues, to her teachers and neighbours, to her many former colleagues at the drugstore, Susanne’s vast Sunshine Coast connections meant everything to her.

She lived for celebration and we hope you will join us in celebrating her amazing life. When in doubt just listen and you will still hear her outrageous and boisterous laugh. Skål to you Mom.
