Theresa Allen Obituary

Theresa was born in Grassy Lake, Alberta on March 30, 1927 and  is predeceased by her parents Barbara and Stephen Roth, siblings and their spouses; Mary (Joe) Schmidt, Margaret “Peggy” (Elmo “Scotty”) Hurt, Tom Roth, Steve (Roma) Roth, Fran (Mickey) Cornwall, Jim (Millie) Roth,  her daughter Lucille “Charlie” Allen, grandson Chad Pierson, granddaughter Dawne Pierson, and great granddaughter Ginger Pierson as well as sisters-and-brothers-in-law Thelma(Sam) Dodds, Pearl(Jack) Craig, Robert Allen and Stan Allen.

Theresa is survived by her children: Gail Allen , Pat Pierson, Garth Allen, Gerald (Donna) Allen, Barb (Steve) Toufexopoulos, Marj Scott, Kathy Allen, Dennis Allen, Charlie’s husband, Jerry Zinger and Grandchildren: Jeremy McCormick, Christine Scott, Trevor Zinger, Taryn Zinger, Alex Enns and Robert Enns; sisters-in-law Barbara (Tom) Roth, Estelle (Stan) Elofson and Doris (Carl) Farvolden and numerous nieces and nephews.

Theresa raised her family on a farm South West of Bow Island, Alberta. Some of her fondest memories were from when her children were young, and the funny and silly things that they would do. She welcomed countless nieces and nephews whenever they came to visit.

She moved to Burnaby in 1988, and relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 1992. In Sechelt she truly found her home and became who she was meant to be. She was fiercely independent, a quiet warrior woman who did what she had to do to have the life she loved.

She was active in the Seniors Centre, and spent many an hour there. She took great pleasure in gardening, painting, knitting and crocheting, and up-cycling materials. She was a long time practitioner of Qi Gong. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, particularly at Snickett Park. Theresa was kind and generous, giving of her efforts, her time, and her love.

She enjoyed travelling and took several trips and cruises with her sisters-in-law Doris, Estelle, Barb, and Millie, as well as trips back to Alberta for family gatherings.

She loved to see pictures of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her  generosity of spirit, kindness, and love. She was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed.
