Timothy (Tim) Wayne Roose
October 27, 1949 - January 28th, 2023
“Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence” - Desiderata
Tim Roose passed away at his home in Egmont BC on January 28th. Tim grew up on a farm in Camrose and Spirit River, Alberta before eventually settling on the Sunshine Coast, where he has been a resident for 36 years. He took pride in his Swedish heritage and believed to be descended from Vikings.
Before retiring in 2009, Tim spent 20 years as a welder for Con-Agg in Sechelt. He also spoke fondly of his time working with the CN Railway and the oil & gas industry. Tim enjoyed fishing all his life, from Alberta lakes to the Pacific Ocean. He also found joy in baseball, golf, air shows, car shows, NASCAR, and live music. Tim loved to drive the roads while singing to a good country or rock & roll song. In his youth, Tim enjoyed hunting with his father. However, as he grew older he decided it was better to shoot wildlife with a camera instead.
Tim was a man of god and science. He loved looking to the stars from this pale blue dot. He was a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. Storytelling was a gift that Tim loved to share with others, and he had a great appreciation for the power of words and poetry. He found inspiration for his own poetry in the works of scientists, philosophers, musicians and the King James bible.
“Yesterday is gone, let it be”
Tim will be sorely missed by his wife Gale of “147” years; his five children: Deedrie, Theo, Jesse, Myrriah, & Luke; his grandchildren: Caleb, Ryan, Brandon and Rosie; and his nieces and nephews: Ricky, Shawn, Lisa, Laura, Jana, & Deanna. Tim is predeceased by his parents Ted & Muriel & his brothers Pat & Gus.
In memoriam, donations can be made to the BC Schizophrenia Society, or the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation.
“A viking until the final battle, Valhalla is yours!”
