Victor Warren Obituary

Victor Delbert Warren was born Dec. 3, 1937 in Hamilton, Ontario and passed peacefully, Feb. 22, 2019 in Sechelt, BC at 81 years. Vic was the eldest of five children to Douglas and Olive Warren.Growing up in the Edmonton area Vic had a strong interest in anything mechanical. As a jack of all trades he became an accomplished welder, mechanic, house builder, worked on fishing boats, in logging, and pipelines. He spent most of his later years driving and repairing heavy equipment. He could do almost anything he set his mind to and didn’t hesitate to tackle anything that came his way. His happiest times were bent over the fender of a vehicle seeing what he could to do solve a problem. He loved to get behind the wheel of anything from a motorcycle to semi-truck. He would get behind the wheel and drive day and night until he reached his destination! It was his biggest complaint in life when he could no longer drive. Vic was married to Patricia Lanky (predeceased) and together had Justin Warren (Lori) and Jori Warren (Wade), both still living in the Edmonton area.
His son Justin also became an accomplished welder, and raised five children and has two grandchildren who are the apple of his eye. His family is his greatest accomplishment and joy, motorcycles being a close second. His daughter Jori has become a talented visual artist, and has a close art community around her. Vic was proud of his kids and never hesitated to tell his friends of their accomplishments. Vic with his partner Susan also had sons Virgil and Casey. Vic always had his family in his thoughts and spoke of them often. He leaves a brother Richard(predeceased 1949), brother Don Warren (Lilah), sister Carole Featherstone (Bert) and sister Nola Harris (Roger) as well as many extended family members that will hold memories of Vic in their hearts. Vic made a happy life for himself in the Gibsons, BC area where he lived and worked for over thirty years. He worked at various occupations in Gibsons, and in his final working years spent a lot of time working for Keith Wright and his wife with their trucking firm, and helping them where he could. Vic was a good friend that never spoke badly about anyone and always made time for his friends. He loved to have his friends stop in for a beer and visit and he had a circle of friends that watched out for him in his later years. His family would like to thank them for that, especially Bill Youdell and his family who helped Vic so much in his later years. Bill looked out for Vic and cared for him even after he went in to Totem Lodge and his family will be forever grateful. We would also like to thank the staff at Totem Lodge for their care and concern for Victor in his last days.

As we look back at Vic’s life we all could agree to “Cherish what you have, love your family and friends
because in the end, it is really all we have.” May your journey find you peace and contentment Vic, we will remember you with love.
