(Bill) William John Ayres Jr.
Our beautiful son and brother passed away, Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 7:17 am in VGH ICU with heart failure.
On March 21st he had bravely faced a risky operation with having some of his toes amputated. We all thought he was out of the woods. After, he was in good spirits until March 23, at which point his health took a downward turn . Bill is no longer in pain and is at peace. He had been on the kidney transplant list for 5 years.
So many of you have unanimously said he was a wonderful human being; compassionate, honest, highly intelligent, proud, and had the best sense of humour.
Bill was very very kind to animals, an animal whisperer really.
Growing up in Jasper National Park, Bill developed a real love of the weather, the environment, the justice system and politics. Airplanes, bowling, photography, biking, hiking and fishing were his passions.
Bill was appreciated and well loved by so many. He made a difference in his lifetime and there were many testimonies from people that he had helped over the years.
He worked managing Corporate Radio Shack stores in Calgary and Edmonton. He also enjoyed working and assisting in the family businesses.
Survived by his mother, Marilynn Ayres, his father, Bill Ayres Sr., sister, Melody Ayres and best friend, Metro Semeniuk.
He was also survived by his aunts, Maria Simpkins, Cheryl Simpkins, Anne Ralston, and Betty Ayres; his uncles, Bill Simpkins, Al Ralston and Frank Ayres; cousins Tracy Kartinen, Bob Ralston, Ben Ralston, Roy Simpkins, Amber Pedersen, Peter Ayres, and Bob Ayres.
At the front gates Billy will be meeting his cousin “Davis Simpkins”, cousin in-law “Bernie Pierre”, family friends “Terry Ritchie” and “Ken Shearsmith”.
His cousin “Eddy Simpkins” will be on the other side of the gates waiting with all the grandparents and other uncles. His pets, Kylie Cat, Emma Dog & Boo Dog will be so happy with their tails a-wagging!
“Billy, you will always be right here in our hearts for eternity. We know everything will be alright." We heard our ringtone on your phone from the Beatles: "Here come the Sun, It's going to be okay"
We thank Bill's care teams:
Dennis and Chester Sechelt Dialysis, VGH Dialysis, Wound Care Sechelt Hospital, Dr Singh and the Transplant Team, Dr Jaschinski Cowrie Medical Clinic
