It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Yuet-Man (George) To announce his peaceful passing back to our Lord on January 15, 2023 at the age of 76 in Sechelt, British Columbia. George was born on November 14, 1946 in Guangzhou, China, son of Mr. Liang To and Mrs. To-Ying Chan To. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marie (Khor), son David (Wan Hon Koh), and granddaughter Victoria. George was the youngest of six siblings, Frank, Shaw-Wen, Teresa (Lee), Margaret (Yu) and Kai-Wen.
George’s family relocated early in his childhood to Taiwan, where he grew up, performed national service as a Lieutenant in the Air Force, and completed his Degree in Pharmacy at China Medical College in Taichung, Taiwan in 1971. Shortly thereafter, George immigrated to Canada in 1973 and after further studies at Dalhousie University and the University of Toronto, obtained his Canadian pharmacist accreditations. George would meet his wife Marie Khor in Halifax and they later married in Toronto in 1975. George and family would then move back to Nova Scotia in 1979, where he would serve many communities as a pharmacist, including Amherst, River Hebert, Springhill, Annapolis Royal, Sydney and finally Neil’s Harbour. In 2001, George and Marie moved to the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia where he enjoyed semi-retirement while working part time before fully retiring a few years later. George filled his senior years by travelling, walks around the block chatting up neighbours, keeping up with current events, and cooking up a storm. In his final year, he was able to see his Precious “Bo-bui” granddaughter, Victoria. Thank you dear husband, father and grandfather for doing it your way to provide love and opportunity to your family in this life. Rest now and know that we will always love you.
Memorial services are not immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sechelt Hospital Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
